Mother-of-Pearl Inlay Table

Brooklyn-based furniture manufacturer olollo, inc.. contacted Prototope to cut the wood veneer and mother-of-pearl inlay pieces for a series of custom tables. The mother-of-pearl portions of the table were cut from tiles made up of thin layers of capiz shells. After a series of tests, we devised a system for laser cutting the unusual material to the precise specifications for their design.
